Internal wall
Innervägg
A separating wall inside the climate shell: sound and fire requirements usually govern, not weather.
Walls category with Function set to Interior; commonly a stud-and-board compound type
IfcWall typed by IfcWallType; IfcMaterialLayerSet for the build-up
walls
Net area (m²) per layer; linear metres for framing where a recipe states it
Where this element is normally designated in each Swedish reference system. Code values stay with their publishers.
| System | Designated in | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| CoClass | Functional systems (separating), then Constructive systems | Separating function first; the framed or massive realisation second. A partition and a load-bearing internal wall are different constructive systems. |
| BIP | Object designation and the fire/sound property designations | Makes the stated class readable. Verification is a separate step. |
| BK04 | Group and sub-group per layer — plasterboard, studs, mineral wool | Candidate products for stated layer requirements. |
Identity → system classification → contract → recipe. The contract carries the fire and sound requirement the wall must meet before any board is chosen.
- Load-bearing and non-load-bearing internal walls share a Revit category and must not share an identity.
- A sound class written into the type name is not a tested value; it is a designer's intent.
BIM data is evidence, not authority
A parameter in a model is a claim made by whoever typed it. Treating claims as authority is how wrong numbers get inherited across an entire project.
What is construction decision infrastructure?
Models describe geometry. Decision infrastructure records the choice, the evidence behind it, the authority that governed it, and the receipt that proves it.
